about

Here is the Niitsitapi legend of the Birch Tree translated and spoken in Mi'kmaq (Listiguj spelling and pronunciation).

The artist name is Gepmite'tg - which means 'respect' in Mi'kmaq. The symbol is an old Mi'kmaq ideogram meaning 'respect.' Ideograms were used by the Mi'kmaq before the arrival of Europeans.
